To try to keep us all safe, we are doing our best to work within the Government Guidelines and ask you, please, to accept these strange changes - the new "temporary" until we get through and back to the old "normal".
First of all, if you or any of your household feel unwell, or have any symptoms remotely connected to Covid-19 (a new, continuous cough, a high temperature or a loss of taste or smell) we would respectfully ask you to save your visit for another day.
We will, of course, be adhering to the new rule of six. There are now well spaced tables available inside the pub and lots of outdoor tables too, if you prefer to sit outside.
We have been requesting contact details to help track and trace if required but from 18th September, this becomes law therefore we regret, we will be unable to serve anyone who refuses to give contact details.
We still use disposable plates - this is for your safety. They are brand new, straight from the packet, no risk at all.
We have an excellent one-out, one-in out in system for the loos - details on every table.
Please don't stand at the bar. Table service is available but if you prefer go to the bar for drinks, please take them back to your table. Please pay contactless if possible - cash is a dirty word, literally.
May we assure you that we have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment, implemented the findings, clean relentlessly and have scrupulous handwashing and hygiene procedures in place. We have lots of hand sanitizer for you too.
We hope these "strange changes" reassure you that we are doing everything possible to keep us all safe.
One last thing … sadly, we have had recent instances of people reserving tables and not showing up - no-shows in this trade. If you reserve and change your plans, please let us know. Otherwise we may have to start requesting credit card details to secure table bookings, something we have resisted for the 23+ years we have been here.
Thank you for your support - we look forward to seeing you.
